Josh Boyd’s award winning vocal and guitar talents draw influences from many styles, with an emphasis on Jazz, Blues, Funk and Soul. Josh’s unique sound has often been described as hinting at artists such as George Benson and Michael Bublé, to Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Wes Montgomery. After much anticipation, Josh Boyd has recently released his debut independent album “Up Till Now”
Since graduating in jazz performance from the New Zealand school of music in Wellington, Josh Boyd has become a prominent entertainer in Queensland, Australia. Josh Boyd has quickly established a strong local following with frequent performances at the Brisbane Jazz Club, support for Vince Jones at the Arts Centre Gold Coast, The Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club
Josh bring's a fresh new sound with a mix of original compositions, and his own arrangements of well known standards. His performances range from his 5 piece live band "Tribute to George Benson" show, to his soul, jazz and pop solo looping sound. A slick and professional musician, Josh connects on an emotional level with his audience, creating a warm & upbeat atmosphere, adding a touch of class and making every event he plays at one to remember!
